Ebony stumbled along, he had been running for days now and had no idea where he was, all he knew was that he was way away from MoorClan! The small fox tripped on a thick stick that he hadn't seen and landed face first in the dirt. "Ow!" Ebony mumbled as he stood up again on shaky legs, he hadn't eaten since he left MoorClan so the poor fox was starving and weak. Looking around Ebony saw a robing hopping around on the ground looking for food. He instinctively went into a hunter's crouch, but having no practice with hunting his crouch was sloppy and made his balance off. Ignoring this, Ebony charged at the bird smashing through the grass and stomping on sticks as he went. The robin had plenty of time to fly away before Ebony even got to the spot where it had been standing. The little fox snarled in frustration and hunger. Why did he leave MoorClan? The cats their hated him but at least he had food! A twig snapped behind him, but it was a small noise so Ebony assumed it was a mouse or vole. Again he went into his sloppy crouch but when he turned around he found himself staring at the dark fur of a huge hulking cat who was staring back at him with hunger and fury in his eyes. ((Anyone wanna RP the cat?))

Fadedstripe didn't know why he wanted to walk through Rogue territory. Oh, that's right. I want to get killed by a bunch of exiled cats. He thought angrily. padding along more then silently. He had heard twigs breaking up ahead, he stood frozen in fear for a moment, wondering what had made the noise, and then saw that it was just a fox. Wait, FOX?! He thought alarmed, and raced over to the young fox. Burning hatred shone in his eyes, but as he saw the young predator couldn't even hunt, it vanished. He had no sympathy for foxes, but... he was stuck. He didn't know whether to kill it, or to help him. He padded up to the fox, "I am Fadedstripe. What is your name? And don't try to run, or I shall kill you." [/size]

Ebony shook in fear, all his life cats had pelted him with mouse bones and moss balls, called him names and made fun of him, got him into trouble and taunted him, but never had they threatened to kill him before, exile him yes, kill his nursing mother yes which was probably worse, but never kill him! "I--I am--Eb--Ebony!" the frightened fox stammered, his fear making his voice squeak. "P--Please--Don--t--hurt--m--me!" he begged, his eyes beginning to fill with tears. Ebony had never been so terrified in his life. Part of his fear now was because he was starving and ready to pass out from hunger, part was because he could not see his nursing mother for a moon, and part was because FadedStripe was terrifying!

That did it. Fadedstripe was a sucker for an animal in need. He wrapped his tail around the fox affectionately, and bent down to look at him. "Don't cry, little one. I shall not hurt you, but tell me, why are you here? Where is your mother?" He remembered how hungry the little fox must be, and he sprang away. After a few moments he came back with two mice and dropped them in front of Ebony. Sitting back down, he asked again. "Where is your mother?" He a full grown fox would kill him, but he'd find her, he was too nice. What have I gotten myself into..

Ebony scarfed the mice down as soon as they hit the ground. When their was nothing left but their bones he looked at his paws as he answered the big tom's questions. "My fox mother is dead and so are my siblings, my mother was shot by a twoleg hunter and my siblings died of hunger. I was taken in by SpottedFur of MoorClan but most of the clan hates me. The deputy got violent about me being a problem in his clan so I've decided to leave for a moon so that I don't cause my nursing mother any more grief!" Ebony shook from sadness as he said this, though he didn't want SpottedFur to get into trouble or get hurt because of him, he was starting to believe it was a huge mistake leaving MoorClan. He had no training, so no idea how to hunt or fight and worse he was a fox! Ebony didn't know if he would even survive the day let alone a moon!

Fadededstripe brushed his tail along Ebony's flank. He'd teach him how to hunt and fight, just until he could see his 'mother' again. He felt bad for the little one. He looked down at him, and used his paw to lilt his head up. (Sorry, this is kinda powerplay for saying that. XD) "I'll teach you how to hunt and fight," Silence. "As long as you promise me, right now, that you will NEVER kill a clan cat. Unless it is for defense, of course." He wondered how he'd react. He wasn't like most fox kits, he'd be bleeding out if he was, but he didn't even know how to fight! He stifled a sigh and waited.
Even if he did say yes, how was he going to come back all the time? He was a deputy, after all. He went through the possibilitys, he could hunt longer, that might work, or he could say he wanted to be alone. He thought of his clan mates, and how they needed him. Sighing, a fight going on in his mind. This fox needs me, too!

Ebony looked trustingly at FadedStripe, no cat had ever treated him like this before, like an equal but not equal. Most of the queens would ignore him or fret over him, and most tom cats tried to stay away from him or jab at him. No one had ever offered to train him! This tom knew he needed training if he was going to survive, and he was offering that to Ebony. But he wasn't treating him like a cat which was what Ebony liked. He could see the struggle but honesty in FadedStripe's eyes and Ebony knew that although he was different, this tom was offering him something he would most likely never get offered again! "I will accept you training and your terms!" Ebony said his voice shaking just a little but his words were still clear.

Fadedstripe nodded. He knew too well what would happen if his clan found out he was helping a fox, but this fox was from a clan, so he wouldn't want to hurt cats. He was amazed that by living with the cats, he thought of himself as a fox at all. "Alright, I'll be back later to teach you how to hunt, and if you come across a predator, just run." He looked around for an area the kit could stay. He found a cave and picked the kit up, ignoring the squirms of protests. (Sorry for PP) He dropped him outside the cave. "Stay here, so I can find you. I'll be back soon." He was gone before Ebony could respond.

She'd not understood why she'd come this way, considering it was ouside her Clan's territory, but her paws pulled her here without remorse. Wherever she was going, she was going fast and without having a say in the matter. Besides, she'd not seen a single rogue lately, and she had a few loners for friends that she knew came across this area, so she figured it was safe enough to cross through, if only for a while to stretch her legs.
Blue eyes flickered in the sunlight, highlighting the single scar across her face as she caught the scent of a ViperClan cat. ViperClan? What's one of theirs doing out here? she asked herself as she crouched down in the bushes to see Fadedstripe rush from a small cavern, which quickly caught her interest when she noticed something moving in front. With silent and cautious movement, the lovely AutumnClan deputy made sure the ViperClan tom was away before she made her approach, her blue eyes narrowing as she tried to figure out what she was looking at. However, the scent beat her to the punch. A fox? she wondered as her eyes widened slightly. This small? she asked herself as she finished closing the distance between her and the fox kit, but kept herself just a few feet away as not to startle the child. "Hello, little one." she mewed, smiling softly. Many would just do away with the young fox, but not Gardeniaflower; the poor thing probably couldn't even fight yet, and she didn't want to be responsible for the killing of an innocent either. "My name is Gardeniaflower of AutumnClan, and you are?" she asked.

Fadedstripe was walking back to camp, quickly. Though he wondered if he should teach the cat now. He told his clan he wanted to be alone, after all, he had been through much. He deserved some time alone, no? He started to walk back, he was going to teach the young cat how to fight. He didn't want Ebony hurt.
They'd hate me, but Twistedstar would exile him.. right? He frowned at the though, but shook it from his head quickly. His paws were prickling with both excitement and fear. The young fox could turn at him, but, he couldn't be responsible for letting him die.
When he was closer to the cave, he stopped. "AUTUMNCLAN!" He hissed, and started running faster then he ever has. He stopped when he saw the deputy, Gardeniaflower. He snarled loudly and went to stand in front of Ebony. "Don't touch him!" ((OOC: No, I don't. Not sure about Fox, though. xD))

((No, I don't mind, Sorry for not posting Scribblez!))
Ebony pressed his ears flat against his head and growled bravely at the new cat. She smelled funny, really funny, but in a familiar way. This confused the little fox and just made him want her to go away more. She had just padded up and started talking to him like he knew her, or wanted to know her. The way she talked to him though, without fear and with authority like she was used to being in charge, it scared Ebony more than anything else. Without saying anything the fox kit snarled and spit at the finny smelling cat and pressed himself as flat against the back wall of the cave as he could. Ebony silently begged that FadedStripe would come back soon and when he saw the tom suddenly appear standing in front of him and snarling at the new cat, Ebony almost thought he was dreaming. However, still being to scared to say anything Ebony just nudged the tom's back leg in appreciation then barred his teeth at the cat standing in the entrance to the cave.

The she-cat took on a sorrowful look when she saw the young fox was frightened of her; she meant no harm, wasn't that plain to see? Had she wanted to harm the young fox, wouldn't she had done that? Perhaps this young fox had gone through things with cats that she didn't know. She opened her mouth to speak, but that was when Fadedstripe came out of nowhere, causing her to jump to her paws and acrh her back from the shock. Upon seeing it was the tom she'd seen eariler, she gave a sigh and lowered her back. "Don't scare me like that again!" she mewed, ignoring the hisses from the fox cub and ViperClan tom. As long as she kept her distance, she'd be fine.
He retained from snarling herself, not out of pride or ego, but out of the fact that it wasn't going to help. Sitting down on the earth, the she-cat simply narrowed her eyes at the ViperClan tom. "What kind of cat do you take me for, Fadedstripe?" she asked, her voice stern from being insulted by his previous comment. "I've never killed anyone in my life, nor have a killed anything unless it was a threat to my Clan or unless it was a prey item! What makes you think I'd kill a fox cub that is far away from my territory, obviously not a threat, and not a prey item?" she asked, her gaze softening at the young cub. "Besides, what are you doing so far away from ViperClan territory? And before you ask about me, I was out on a walk searching for some of my loner friends." she meowed, making sure both of them knew a reason for her being out there.

Ebony could hardly understand what the funny smelling she-cat was talking about, and it hurt his head to think about it, so instead he thought about where he'd smelled her sent before. As Ebony mulled this over, he was also subconsciously aware of the she-cat talking in the background, and one thing she said brought him back out of his thoughts. "Fox kit!" Ebony snapped suddenly after the annoying, pointy she-cat had stopped talking. Everyone he met related him to wolves and bares when really foxes were more related to cats and raccoons and some breeds of dogs, it always annoyed him.

Fadedstripe stopped snarling for a moment, and calmed down. He knew this cat, well enough, to know she won't kill him. He rolled his eyes and sat down. "Well, if you MUST know, I do need time alone." That was all he was going to say on the subject, the deputy didn't need to know about his sadness. He looked over at Ebony, and pity filled his eyes. He was scared. He wished he could reassure the young fox, but he knew he couldn't.
His personality kicked in then, "Well, miss. I am sorry I went on you like that. That was rude, no?" He told her, his tail twitching with amusement, then it touched Ebony on his mouth, telling him to shush.

Gardeniaflower only rolled her eyes in response to the tom, standing back to her paws and taking a few steps forwards; she was still on guard encase the tom or the fox kit tried to attack, but she figured she should come a little closer; she didn't have to raise her voice as much if she did so. Blue eyes looked towards the young fox when he corrected her, and all she could do was to chuckle slightly. "My, aren't we a brave one?" she mewed sweetly, sitting down in front of the fox kit and Fadedstripe. "Alright then, little one, I won't call you a cub anymore. You have to forgive me, I was raised calling young foxes 'cubs', although I wish I had a proper name to call you by instead." she explained before she looked up at Fadedstripe. "Where did he come from, and why does he smell like MoorClan?" her voice held no concern or hostility, just simple curiosity. The she-cat wanted to know more about this little fox.
